Meet Dina

Hey, I’m Dina!

I’m really excited to get to know you. I deeply believe in the power of the therapeutic relationship and strive to create a warm, safe space where you can share your concerns. As a humanistic therapist, I blend person-centered principles with attachment theory and CBT to guide my work.

Coming from a mixed heritage background (Arab & Mexican), I know what it’s like to grow up in a household with more than one culture or faith. This personal experience allows me to connect with clients from diverse backgrounds and offer a culturally sensitive approach.

I specialize in helping people navigate depression, anxiety, and trauma. My approach is holistic and inclusive, ensuring that everyone feels heard and valued. I use a variety of therapeutic techniques, including expressive arts, sandtray, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and EMDR.

I’ve been working with clients since 2011, gaining experience in various settings, from community mental health clinics and schools to a nonprofit dedicated to counseling survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. In a large group private practice, I progressed from therapist to assistant clinical director and then clinical director. Eventually, I had the opportunity to become a professor at my alma mater to teach masters and doctoral students in the field of counseling, which I couldn’t pass up.

I understand that reaching out for support can be challenging, but you don’t have to do it alone. I’m here to listen and help you navigate whatever challenges you’re facing. If you’re ready to take the next step toward healing, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

When I’m not teaching or seeing clients, you can find me dancing to salsa or bachata, spending time with family and friends, going to indie rock shows, adding books to my to-be-read pile, or hanging out with my cats.
